42nd Annual Cherries for Charity kicks off

Fundraiser is going on now through next Tuesday.

FARGO — As of Wednesday, July 10, you can donate to charity by shopping at your local grocery store. It's the 42nd Annual Cherries for Charity event.

Hornbacher's is teaming up with the YWCA of Cass-Clay and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center on the event.

For every pound of cherries sold, 25 cents will be donated to the two organizations now through Tuesday, July 16.

The fundraiser has donated over $517,000 since it started in 1982. That equals 1.8 million pounds of cherries.
